Groom flies high on wedding day

JUPITER — Standing at the altar, the bride watched her prince charming fall out of the sky Saturday before he walked down the aisle.

Ismael Rodriguez, 34, arrived at his wedding two minutes after jumping from a plane to meet his bride, Mari Delgado, 33, and pledge their vows on the sands of the Jupiter Beach Resort.
Rodriguez took the big leap with six other professional sky divers as crowds craned their necks to watch his safe landing. He was the last to spiral down in a blue and neon-yellow-striped parachute just after 6 p.m.
As he touched ground, Rodriguez greeted his mother and slipped on a tuxedo jacket before he took a breathless walk down a red carpet sprinkled with red roses.
"I was just hoping I didn't land on anybody's head," Rodriguez said.
But the bride appeared to be swept away as R. Kelly's I Believe I Can Fly played in the background.
"I've always told my friends that I wanted a love time will lie and be still for, and he finally came," Delgado said.
"This is my prince charming."
The Spanish-born Loxahatchee couple decided to start their marriage with an unconventional ceremony to mark their union. They met last year via telephone when Rodriguez lived in Baltimore. He flew Delgado in for a visit and soon after proposed.
Rodriguez began sky diving last year and is also a European kickboxer. His mother flew in from Spain's Basque countryside to give him away.
"He's always been very adventurous," said Maria Pilar Rodriguez, his mother. "I'm nervous, but he told us he wanted to do something special for today."
